American legislators from each factions are assigning blame as many of employees face unpaid leave and the funding gap continues with no conclusion in sight.

Democrats have refused to support the Republican spending plan unless lapsing insurance support which they claim many working families count on are extended.

The Republican Party expect Democrats to approve a short-term measure beforehand and then they can discuss the support payments.

This California voter is concerned about the extensive impact of the funding halt on ordinary Americans.

The GOP have fifty-three yeas, they require 60 to pass the legislation. Is it that challenging to find common ground over 7 yeas so that US citizens are protected?

If this continues for a few more weeks, the bottom line is Americans are being hurt, American citizens are being impacted by this and someone must take action to be the adult in the room.

I believe sometimes legislators are so far away from ordinary citizens, the regular person going about their day, so they overlook what the struggle is like and I believe they need to take that into consideration, particularly if it's a large number of Americans that are not getting paid.

That's a large group of Americans not getting paid, that's a lot of citizens unable to inject their income into the economy. Americans are just being negatively impacted.

I'm anxious because there is no positive result with the government being inactive.

I'm extremely anxious about what's going to occur to economically disadvantaged groups, scholars who rely on government grants and federal employees.

But this is a important struggle for the Democrats to fight. Certainly positions are going to be cut, programmes are going to lack financial support, which is so regrettable but I feel that is blame that the Democratic Party would have on their hands.

I think it's important to stand firm, this is communicating a powerful signal to their supporters.

I don't know if the Senate Democratic leader has a roadmap for an off-ramp to talks or how to get the faction away from this.

In terms of online communication, the Republicans definitely have the advantage. The messaging is not effective on what Democrats are trying to do.

I'm currently at a juncture where I'm kind of concerned because federal closures harm anyone.

I'm going to be okay, but for everyone else who needs the public services, who hopes to explore a public land or gallery, they're going to be inconvenienced, if not currently, then in the short term.

And that is unacceptable.

This is usual politics. It is a continuing resolution they are attempting to approve, that the opposition don't support.

Many are labeling it a Schumer shutdown, it's not due to the GOP, it's due to Schumer, he's proceeding to maintain influence within his own party - in the interim, people are in the uncertainty.

I fail to observe that this is going to resolve.

The average Americans are caught in the middle, and the left are ready to disregard them. They're hurting their cause any benefits when they really hold up issues like this.

The current president is a aggressor and if you give into a bully he's going to expect additional concessions, that's how such individuals work. So you have to resist a bully to make him recognise you're not going to surrender for without resistance.

The moment when it crosses a line is when the Democrats start losing the narrative struggle, if the narrative turns to criticizing the left then it might be necessary to end the standoff.

I would believe after the period that the left have had, I would have assumed that they would have agreed to the stopgap measure, at least in the short term.
