Paramount Skydance Will Remove Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Update
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to initiate significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 American roles as part of a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.
The layoffs follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are anticipated, with the company aiming to announce all specifics during its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Prior news suggested the firm planned to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.
Until December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response on the matter.
